Here’s what’s going on in and around El Paso this weekend, May 24 – May 27. Some events are free, some will cost you a few bucks.

FRIDAY - SATURDAY:

‘The Addams Family’ - The world of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Wednesday, Pugsley and Lurch comes to life on stage. 8 p.m. at the Plaza Theatre. Tickets: $35-$60. More Info

FRIDAY – SUNDAY:

Moore’s Greater Shows Carnival – Rides, food and games! 5 p.m.- midnight Friday,  2 p.m.- midnight Saturdays, 2-10 p.m. Sunday in the Cielo Vista Mall parking lot. Admission is free, but rides cost 3 to 5 tickets; tickets are sold for $1 (or 24 for $20). $25 for a wristband good for unlimited rides.

SATURDAY:

Downtown Artist Market – The market offers the chance to shop for original arts and crafts in an outdoor setting while enjoying entertainment featuring local artists, food vendors and free activities for the entire family. 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Union Plaza District (near The Garden Restaurant) along Anthony Street. Farmer’s Market at Ardovino’s Desert Crossing - The annual “producers only” market begins its 12 season featuring area farmers, backyard gardeners and artisans selling organic and pesticide-free vegetables, locally-made goat cheeses, natural free range chickens and eggs, native plants for home and yard, fresh-baked breads and salsas. Eddie Griffin – The actor, comedian brings his stand up to the Abraham Chavez Theatre. 8p.m. Tickets: $30 - $80. More Info

Chivas El Paso Patriots Soccer – El Paso Patriots, the highest level of soccer played in El Paso and consisting primarily of players from the El Paso/Las Cruces/Cd. Juarez area, will entertain the Texas Dutch Lions 8 p.m. at the Student Activities Complex (SAC) of the Socorro Independent School District, 1300 Joe Battle Blvd. Tickets: $6 Adults, $4 Children ages 3 - 12. 771-6620

SATURDAY – MONDAY:

KLAQ Balloonfest - This year’s Balloonfest will feature more than 30 balloons taking off at dawn Saturday through Monday from the YMCA’s W.C. Snow Sports and Family Recreation Center near Westside Drive in Sunland Park, while Wet ‘N’ Wild Waterworld in Anthony will once again host the daily concerts that include recent Grammy winners Halestorm. Southern New Mexico Wine Festival - This festival is more about sampling wines produced by New Mexico wineries as well as local food and vendors. Daily music leans more towards the jazz/blues genre. More Info

SUNDAY:

Memorial Day Picnic at Zin Valle Vineyards – Bring your family and friends, a picnic and enjoy the afternoon at Zin Valle Vineyards. Free wine tasting and music from Dusty Low. 12 Noon to 5 p.m. More Details
