In a crackdown of pirated piñatas in Mexico City by federal police recently, "Spider-Man", or "Hombre-Araña" was the most popular character seized. The raid was in response to a complaint from Marvel Comics and Entertainment, which own the rights to several characters being made into piñatas. Edwardo Bejarano, a piñata vendor who was detained in the raid complained, "It's just  newspaper with paint on it. We're not copying music or film. How can we copy if Marvel does not make piñatas.??!!"
