The Greater El Paso Landfill Closes Early Due to High Winds

Due to the high winds and low visibility the City of El Paso Environmental Services Department (ESD) has closed the Greater El Paso Landfill.

The high winds that are sweeping into the region have made it difficult for the facility to remain open. The Greater El Paso landfill is located at 2300 Darrington Road will close to the general public at 2 p.m. today in the interest of public safety. Weather permitting the landfill will resume normal operating hours for the general public tomorrow.

The landfill’s normal operating hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information about the landfill, please call 3-1-1.
