The Governor Of New Mexico, Susanna Martinez Used To Cheer For Me
Susanna Martinez, the governor of New Mexico, and the first latina governor of the United States, was a cheerleader at Riverside High School, and she used to cheer for me when I was a baseball player on the Riverside varsity baseball team. I don’t need to tell you how proud us former and current Riverside Ranger students are of Susie. I remember her as a petite, pretty, out-going, and smart young lady who everybody was drawn to, and you could tell even way back then in the mid-70’s that she was destined for great things. Her brother Jake Martinez was also a good friend of mine, who played football at Riverside, and I would always kid him about setting me up with his cute little sister. Susie used to cheer for me at Riverside…now I cheer for her!!
