In celebration of Pride Month, the El Paso Playhouse will be showing an AIDS advocacy piece, The Normal Heart by Larry Kramer.

To coincide with the celebration of Pride Month, Normal Heart will be performed for one weekend with a special charity performance on June 25th. Proceeds will benefit three LGBT non-profits in our city: PFLAG-El Paso, Paso Del Norte OUTFund & the Pathfinder Transitional Center.

The Normal Heart is a searing drama about public and private indifference to the AIDS plague and one man's lonely fight to awaken the world to the crisis. The Normal Heart follows Ned Weeks, a gay activist enraged at the indifference of public officials and the gay community. While trying to save the world from itself, he confronts the personal toll of AIDS when his lover dies of the disease. This production was recently turned into an HBO special starring Julia Roberts (Pretty Woman), Mark Ruffalo (13 Going On 30) and Jim Parsons (Big Bang Theory).

Performances run June 26th through the 28th, 2015; with the collaborative charity night on Thursday, June 25th at 7 p.m. Tickets for the charity night are $35 with hors d'oeuvres and complimentary beer and wine.
