There is almost nothing scarier than a fire breaking out in your house. You need to have a fire extinguisher available, but if you don't have one, the El Paso Fire Department is giving you the chance to get one for free.

EPFD has teamed up with Western States Fire Protection Systems and Henderson Fire Systems to give out free fire extinguishers tomorrow morning to the first 100 visitors at the new EPFD “Community Fire House.”

If you have a fire extinguisher, you can get it inspected and/or re-certified. Free safety information and fire extinguisher use classes will also be offered.

People can also sign up for home safety surveys, evacuation planning and/or free smoke alarm instillations.

The event is for the whole family and there will be activities for children as well.
