Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlan will perform for one night only at the Plaza Theatre on February 14, 2015.

The universally renowned and internationally acclaimed Mariachi  Vargas De Tecalitlan will perform a rare appearance in El Paso for Valentine's Day.

Originally founded by Don Gaspar Vargas, Manuel Mendoza and two violinists in the town of Tecalitlan, Mexico in 1898, has continued to perform for the last 116 years.

The group is divided into five generations; the first generation from 1897 to 1930, the second from 1931 to 1949, the third from 1950 to 1993, the fourth from 1994 to 2002 and the fifth since 2003 to date.

Since its inception, the group has starred in more than 200 movies, recorded dozens of albums of pasodobles, valses, bailables, polkas, and danzones, as well as collaborated with various artists including Juan Gabriel and Linda Ronstadt.

Currently, Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlan continues to record and tour internationally.
