If you hadn't heard the news, former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher passed away this morning due to stroke complications. But the hashtag on Twitter caused some Cher fans to panic...

No, Cher fans, the singer and actress did not die. The Twitter hashtag "#nowthatchersdead" is meant to be read as "now Thatcher's dead", not "now that Cher's dead."

Rainbow Pickering @CARRICKISMYICON tweeted,

"I'm very confused with the hashtag #nowthatchersdead. Did Cher Die ?"

Nicholas Mulligan @nickmulligan tweeted,

"I can't believe that Cher is dead. Do you believe in life after love?"

Ricky Gervais    @rickygervais tweeted,

"Some people are in a frenzy over the hashtag #nowthatchersdead. It's "Now Thatcher's dead".  Not, "Now that Cher's dead"  JustSayin'"

This is pretty hilarious. I could'nt help but laugh at some tweets...what's happened to society and our lack of sensitivity?
