Dates for the state’s annual tax free weekend have been set. This year you can shop-till-you-drop Friday, August 8th to Sunday, August 10th.

During the sales tax holiday, which has become a shopping event much like Black Friday but without all the early morning Wal Mart trampling, a sales tax will not be tacked onto your purchases of eligible items. That means on average, you’ll save about $8 on every $100 you spend.

The law exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies, and backpacks. A breakdown of the items that are sold tax free can be found here, a list of qualifying school supplies here, and frequently asked questions are answered here.
