There will not be any more sales tax applied in the state of Texas. Well, for this weekend only.

In an attempt to cushion the blow to the old bank account that most families experience as their children prepare to go back to school, Texas’ annual tax holiday is set to get underway beginning on Friday.

According to the Texas comptroller’s office, there will be no sales and use tax on most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks that cost less than $100. The tax holiday should save shoppers around $8 for every $100 they spend.

This will be the 14th year Texas has implemented this program.
