Taste of El Paso is right around the corner, with tons of great local restaurants serving up some of their signature dishes, paired with wine or craft beer samples. This delicious event is going down at the Convention Center on Nov. 12, with doors opening for cocktail hour at 5 p.m., but we got an early sneak taste at one of the participating restaurants, Basico Bistro Cafe.

We got to sample the dishes they'll be serving at Taste of El Paso — tuna tostadas: four half-corn tostadas with chipotle aioli, seared ahi tuna and pickled veggies and the Basico chilaquiles, which the chef told us she was hoping to win the brunch category with. The chilaquiles feature crispy tortilla chips tossed in both red and green (delicious) sauce and topped with cheese. The dishes were paired with a mimosa and wine. Both were amazing, and definitely worth coming out to try on Nov. 12.
