If you have a little one and you want to introduce them to the joys of reading, check out the free story time at the El Paso Public Library. Readings are for preschoolers at 11 a.m., every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday at all branches.

Kids can take part in sing-alongs, crafts, puppets, or dancing as well as the readings. The kiddos will be introduced to books, ideas, and voices of characters that help with cognitive development, and will give them a leg up when they start school.

Experts say reading to preschoolers helps them develop their learning and language skills, critical thinking, and can help them develop good study habits. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers will also learn developmental techniques that can be used at home.
