Twenty-eight years of ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ have gone by and Regis is gone. Now comes the fun part of finding his replacement.
On last night’s ‘Saturday Night Live,’ various celebrities auditioned to sit in the chair next to Kelly Ripa, including, among others, Ricky Gervais, Ashton Kutcher, George Lopez, Rosie O’Donnell, and even NPR’s Garrison Keillor.
It’s all over. Regis Philbin is gone from our mornings.
Friday marked Regis’ final ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ episode, and friends and family gathered to bid the host farewell.
Regis Philbin’s last day on ‘Live with Regis & Kelly’ was this morning. But before his big finale he visited David Letterman last night, and the late night host almost killed him.
Letterman gave Regis a new Vespa as a gift. Regis went outside the studio to give it a spin and…well, it’s Regis, so he promptly fell off the bike.
‘Live With Regis and Kelly’ continues to celebrate Regis Philbin’s trademark doddering old man moments in honor of his impending departure on Nov. 18. The latest installment is a side-splitting montage of the many times he’s botched celebrity names over the past 28 years.
It’s no secret that Regis Philbin has been waging an ongoing war with technology. Fans of ‘Live With Regis and Kelly’ will recall that he’s struggled with nearly every device known to man, including cell phones, fax machines, computers, iPods and even ATMs. The guy is old-fashioned, you see.
