While in the midst of the COVID pandemic, flu season is fast approaching and getting the flu shot may be more critical this year than it has in the past.

Flu season starts in late September and goes all the way to March, and even though a flu shot might not prevent you from getting the flu virus, doctors still urge people to get one. Kids and elderly people, along with those with a fragile immune system should get a flu shot, but this year, the supply of flu shots may be limited.

Four people have died from the flu in El Paso, and City officials say there is still time to protect yourself with a flu shot. They are offering low cost flu shots for El Pasoans who qualify.

The flu season lasts until May, so if you think that you’ve missed the worst of a bad flu season, you’re lucky.
