Rapper and singer Taboo from The Black Eyed Peas will be getting the UTEP campus all 'turnt up' this Friday night as Minerpalooza celebrates 25 years.

For the uninitiated, the university’s annual back-to-school bash is part pep rally, part festival, with special appearances by Paydirt Pete and the UTEP football team, and an entertainment lineup that includes local and national acts. This year, hometown favorites Ribo Flavin’ will get the party started, and Taboo will close out the night with his own brand of electro hop, and alternative hip hop.

Minerpalooza 2015 will take place this Friday, Aug. 28 in the parking lot of the Larry K. Durham Center at the corner of Glory Road and Sun Bowl Drive starting at 6 p.m. and run through midnight. Admission is free, but food, drinks, and kid's activities will cost you a few bucks. Get all the event details at Minerpalooza.com
