Finally Super Bowl Ads That Don’t Make Dads Look like Idiots

Dads are such buffoons. Look how stupid they are in so many commercials! I mean, when it comes to anything related to fatherhood, marriage, or household chores dads are such idiots.

Only we’re not.

I have a pretty good sense of humor, and I like funny commercials just as much as the next guy. And I understand stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason, but it does get a little old to see TV, movies and commercials portray dads as bumbling, not-present, dummies who feed kids Mountain Dew and cereal for dinner. (How cool was it when he did, though?)

So it was nice to finally see a couple of Super Bowl advertisers portray dad as loving and meaningful in their commercials. Because most of us are more than just buffoons.
