Sun Metro will be offering free rides to children 18 and under this weekend in celebration of the 20th annual Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros.

The annual event is hosted by the El Paso Public Library and Parks and Recreation promotes the importance of reading, education and health to children regardless of social, cultural or economic background.

The free rides will be available on the fixed bus routes and proof of age may be requested by Sun Metro coach operators. Parents and other family members also are encouraged to ride Sun Metro with their children to the annual celebration. Regular fare is $1.50 per trip and transfers are free. Day passes also are available on any Sun Metro fixed-route bus for $3.50.

Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros will take place on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Washington Park, 4201 E. Paisano.
