The Socorro Independent School District is doing its part to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals while school is not in session by providing kids free lunch throughout June.

The Summer Food Program will run from June 3, 2019 through June 28 at 30 sites throughout the district. This is an increase of 14 locations from last school year, and includes the Aquatics Center at the Student Activities Complex for the first time.

Shelley D. Chenausky, Child Nutrition Services Director for SISD, said the increase in the number of sites is an effort by the district to meet the needs of each Socorro Community.

The Summer Food Program is open to any and all children ages 18 and under. No Documentation of any kind is required, nor is proof of income. Any child that shows up will be fed, no questions asked.

Lunch will be available at the campuses listed below from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday as well as at the SAC Aquatics Center.
