Graduation and concert-goers be aware; Oregon Street and some of its cross streets near UTEP will be impacted by construction of the El Paso Streetcar Project for the next couple of months.

And their closures are going to affect how long it takes you to get to and from and in and out of major events at the Don Haskins Center. The closures are necessary to allow contractors to lay the first track along the right southbound transit lane.

So from now through June and quite possibly some or all of July, here are the closures you need to be aware of:

Streetcar Project UTEP closures May-July 2016

• Oregon will be reduced to one lane in each direction from University to Glory Road
• University will be reduced to a single lane in each direction at Oregon
• Cincinnati Avenue will be closed to thru traffic from Oregon to Mesa Street
• Robinson Avenue will be closed to thru traffic from Mesa to just west of Oregon

Consequently, if you plan to attend one of the many graduation ceremonies at The Don over the next three weeks, and/or one of the major concerts being held there, including The Scorpions (May 24) and James Taylor (June 21), plan for extra travel time to and from the venue.
