The El Paso Street Festival kicks off this Friday for a two day party in downtown El Paso but it will also take a moment along with Destination El Paso to remember the victims of the tragedy that took place in Orlando, Florida.

This year’s festival will feature tons of local music on 6 different stages along with headliners: Neon Trees, Seether, Collective Soul and Goo Goo Dolls. Attendees can also enjoy plenty of food trucks, ice-cold beer, art, novelties, crafts and vendor booths including the chance to make a donation to the Equality Florida National Campaign. Anyone interested in making a $5 donation will receive a rainbow bandana which will be on sale at the merchandise booth on the plaza in front of the Convention Center. The money collected will go to the Sun City Pride’s #DanceForOrlando donations on behalf of El Paso.

#DanceForOrlando was created to honor the victims of this horrific tragedy.  Just as they were dancing and living their lives last Saturday evening, we want people in El Paso to do the same in honor of them.  Get out this weekend, grab your bandana, and dance!  Show that we have no fear and will not allow hatred get the better of what is so good in El Paso and the world.

Throughout the weekend club and bar owners, both straight and gay, have been encouraged to participate.  El Paso Sun City Pride has also created a localized GoFundMe account:  GOFUNDME page which they will donate to the national Florida Equality campaign as a donation from El Paso.
