Hi, I'm Mike and I'm a home renovation TV show junkie. I love to see how others fix up their home and what they do with the space they have.

They make it look both fun and easy, and one day city council is going to give us a whole bunch of tax breaks and incentives and I'm going to save up enough to go through with some of the home renovs I've seen.

Until then, I'm going to home shows and keep the dream alive. Like the El Paso Spring Home Show this weekend at the El Paso Convention Center. The annual event includes exhibits, demonstrations, and the latest products for those considering a renovation or remodel, or just looking for inspiration and new ideas.

Joanie Sprague of TLC’s "Trading Spaces" will make a special appearance on Saturday. Sprague, one of the featured carpenters on the recently rebooted show, will host two seminars on affordable house fix-ups and ‘How to Demos’ on Jan. 26 at noon and 2pm.

You can also check out some tiny homes and container homes in what's being dubbed "Tiny Home Village." The press release says you can "walk through the fully furnished and landscaped displays to see what the 'tiny home' rage is all about." Yeah, I don't get those things. I like to spread out, but maybe seeing them for myself in real life will give me a better perspective.

They're bringing back the Pet Expo too so there's also going to be a lot of cute puppies and doggos running around in their Sunday best hoping to win the Best Dressed Pet Contest. Or maybe you'd like to adopt a cute puppy or dog. If so, hit up the Humane Society of El Paso. They'll be there offering offsite adoptions.
