After three years co-anchoring for KFOX14, Hema Mullur has accepted a job in Denver and is trading the Sun City in for the Mile High City. Tuesday night (8/23/11) was her last news cast for KFOX.

Hema's leaving is the latest in a string of departures. Monique Griego and Matt Rivers both recently left KTSM. Monique for a job in Baltimore, Rivers for one in San Antonio. This past June also saw the departure of KVIA’s Veronique Masterson and Marissa Monroy, and FOX14′s Miri Marshall and Dena Richardson. (Their whereabouts were chronicled in this  blog posting.)

El Paso has always been a stepping stone for young reporters and anchors - many times ourTV stations are their first television jobs out of college or their first big city job - so it's not a big surprise to see Hema go. She'll be missed. I loved how she was always camera ready and well put together. I hope you enjoyed your stay, Hema, and I bid you farewell with a snippet from the Mike and Tricia Mornings signature goodbye song ...

And I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't end this piece with one of Hema's Great Moments in Broadcasting: the video that went viral a year or so ago of her getting a case of the on-air giggles while reporting on a story of a man accused of chopping up his wife ...
