A day after a sinkhole swallowed a car and its occupant in west El Paso, a second sinkhole has opened up just a few feet away.

According to KFOX 14, the intersection of La Placita Ave. and Villa Hermosa Dr. (near Belvidere and Westwind) is blocked off to traffic, and repairs will begin today (7/24).

As 93.1 KISS-FM previously reported, a woman driving in the area had a harrowing experience Saturday afternoon after the road collapsed underneath and swallowed the SUV she was driving. An old, corroded water system is the cause of the sinkhole, according to El Paso Water.
