Get ready for another west El Paso traffic inconvenience.

If the current construction and detours isn't frustrating enough, motorist driving through I-10 on the westside will have another pain-in-the-you-know-what to grumble about this weekend.

TxDot will be re-stripping lanes on I-10 east and west this Saturday, Jan. 20 and Sunday, Jan. 21 during the middle of the day. Per a Go 10 advisory:

Seven miles of I-10 in both directions will undergo moving closures between Thorn Avenue (mile marker 10 between N. Mesa and Redd ) and the Asarco bridge (mile marker 17).

The email communication states a five-mile-per-hour convoy will be deployed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Expect delays

In addition to the re-stripping, there's another West El Paso closure related to the GO10 project that might affect your commute; Paisano Drive at Sunland Park Drive is under reconstruction and will remain closed 24/7 through Sunday, Feb. 11.
