Selena Shot 19 Years Ago Today

On March 31, 1996, Selena Quintania was shot dead by her former assitant, Yolanda Saldivar. The news of her death shook, not only the Mexican Amercian Community, but the entire nation. ABC covered the story that evening. I was working at KICK FM in Dallas. People would stop me on the street and ask me for information on Selena. People who had never heard of her or listen to her music wanted to learn about her.

It was 19 years ago today that Selena died in a Corpus Christi hospital. She was an incredibly talented yet humble person. She always made time to stop and sign autographs
