San Jacinto Plaza Will Officially Reopen April 16

The day has (finally!) come.

After more than a year of delays, the new San Jacinto Plaza will officially reopen on Saturday, April 16, 2016.

No joke.

I got that straight from the horse's mouth; Plaza project manager Gilbert Guerrero, who assured me via email the above flyer that showed up on the DWNTWN El Paso Facebook page on Friday, April 1, was legit. He added there will be a press conference to formally announce the opening this coming Wednesday morning, April 6.

Details of the planned "fiesta" will be made public then. All we know so far is what's on the flyer: the dedication ceremony will take place at the Plaza at 9:30 a.m. and that it will be followed by some sort of a celebration from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
