‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Alum Pearl to Visit El Paso

The RuPaul's Drag Race star placed in the Top 3 of the reality show’s 7th season. Since the show, Pearl (given name Matt James) has released a unisex fragrance called “Flazéda" and an album titled Pleasure which features the single “Love Slave.” Pearl’s voice is not featured on the Electronic Dance Music album that was in released in 2015 and hit the #11 spot on the Billboard Dance Charts. Instead, James uses other vocalists and centers the album’s focus on his production.

Pearl’s self-description is “a stepford wife, robot bitch.” Pearl will take the stage at Touch Bar & Nightclub on Saturday, September 23rd and tickets are available now at www.eventbrite.com where meet & greet passes have recently been restocked due to sell-out.

I spoke with one of the creative minds at Touch Bar & Nightclub who happens to be celebrating his birthday the night that Pearl will perform at the El Paso venue to ask about his feelings on the clubs success and momentum of attention the venue is seeing since featuring the reality television stars on the main stage at Touch.

 
“We are excited to be able to bring this region the top notch entertainment it deserves. We had done it in the past, but on a smaller scale because our previous venue was not as accommodating to these larger events. Our new venue in East El Paso is much larger, with a bigger stage, better sound and state of the art lighting all which create the perfect setup for large shows which in turn makes it possible to be able to attract and feature many of the most sought after entertainers! In terms of being progressive, we simply keep our ears open to what our patrons and the community are are requesting. Nothing is more gratifying, than a packed house for a big show.
