All morning long, we told you about an accident that shut down Transmountain Road near Paseo Del Norte and the Hospitals of Providence Northwest campus. It turns out the accident that closed all lanes of traffic for the better part of the morning commute was caused by road rage.

El Paso Police say the crash involved four vehicles and happened around 5:50 Wednesday morning. Police investigators say two drivers were arguing as they drove, and then stopped in the lanes on Transmountain, got out of their vehicles and continued fighting. Another driver was not able to stop in time and slammed into the two original vehicles involved in the alleged road rage incident.

Police say one of the drivers of the road rage vehicles was severely injured and taken to the hospital. That person ended up dying from their injuries. Police could not confirm whether the victim was a man or a woman.

You know, the worst thing about this whole incident is that no one woke up this morning thinking, this is going to the be the last day of my life. I'm never going to see my loved ones again. I'm never going to make it to work this morning or home tonight. There is nothing that is worth something like this incident this morning.

Be safe out there, and remember that a person died this morning because of road rage. It's just not worth it.
