City of Las Cruces Celebrates Earth Day with ‘Reuse and Recyle’ Fashion Show this Weekend
That's right! A recycle fashion show in Las Cruces this weekend!
Keep Las Cruces Beautiful, the South-Central Solid Waste Authority, the Las Cruces Green Chamber of Commerce and Friedman Recycling will celebrate Earth Day by hosting a Reuse and Recycle Fashion Show this Saturday on the Downtown Mall.
The Reuse and Recycle Fashion Show is scheduled to begin at noon Saturday, April 20, at La Placita on the Downtown Mall, between Griggs Avenue and Las Cruces Avenue. The fashion show is free and open to the public. It will be held in conjunction with the Farmers Market that is held each Saturday on the Downtown Mall.
The event will showcase how individuals can be ‘green’ with fashion and clothing. Fashion Show attendees will be asked to judge the best reused garments made from old clothing and the best recycled outfits made from recyclable or non-recyclable materials. Friedman Recycling is sponsoring cash prizes for the winners of each category.
