Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and if you want to let someone else do the heavy lifting and just sit back and enjoy a great meal, there are a few places in town that will be open for you to nom nom nom on Turkey Day, and one that will be having Thanksgiving dinner this weekend. If you’re in the military and plan on being out of town for Thanksgiving, but still want to celebrate the season with fellow military families, check out the Thanksgiving brunch at the Centennial Club on Biggs Field, 11199 Sergeant E. Churchill St., from 10 a.m. -1 p.m., Sunday, November 24. They’ll have all your holiday favorites, along with breakfast deliciousness and complimentary wine, champagne or mimosas to round out the meal. If a sit down dinner is what you are looking for, the DoubleTree downtown is the place for you. They will have a menu that includes carved, herb brined and slow roasted turkey, spiced maple and honey glazed ham, and fabulous side dishes like sweet cornbread stuffing, and candied yams with toasted marshmallows.
