Darren and I are sitting around, catching up on all the 'Late, Late Show With Craig Ferguson' shows we've been DVRing all week, and I'm surfing the web.  All nice and snug and cozy...  Then I ran into this.

I guess I realized that things might be tough without electricity, and phone service, and, you know, everything that makes modern life amazing, like not having to worry about sewage-filled water flooding the streets of the city we live in, but I never really thought about how seriously horrible it really is.

Then I read this.

I was completely riveted by the matter of fact way the writer describes what is happening to her.  I would be stark raving crazy if I was her.
