The Hearts Benefit Banquet will be bringing in bestselling author retired Captain Luis Carlos Montalvan and his service dog to El Paso.

Award-winning and best-selling New York Times author, speaker, and advocate, Captain Luis Carlos Montalvan along with his service dog and the recipient of the 2013-14 American Kennel Club, Humane Fund Award for Canine Excellence, Tuesday will be in El Paso to discuss living with disabilities, PTSD, trauma and recovery.

Captain Montalvan is a 17-year veteran of the U.S. Army, who served multiple tours abroad and was decorated with numerous awards including two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart, the Army Commendation Medal for Valor, and the Combat Action Badge.

Montalvan and his service dog Tuesday will be in El Paso for two nights beginning on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 for reading of Tuesday Tucks Me In children’s book signing at Barnes and Noble at the Fountains at Farah and then on Saturday, Feb. 6 as the keynote speaker at the Hearts Benefit Banquet at the El Paso Marriott.
