Power of the Purse Aims at Raising Money to Award Scholarships for Woman in El Paso

Power of the Purse is annual fundraiser that raises money to help support scholarships for woman of El Paso on Thursday, May 5 at the Epic Railyard Center in downtown El Paso.

Power of the Purse is the signature fundraising event from the Women’s Fund of El Paso and held every year featuring a live and silent auction and mercado of new and vintage handbags

Since its inception, the Women’s Fund has awarded 145 scholarships of over $200,000; 30 scholarships of $15,000 for teen leadership development; and $10,000 in giving circles for education and leadership development.

The Women’s Fund of El Paso organization was established in 2004 to connect women with resources available in the community and offer educational advancement and leadership development opportunities for their economic advancement.

Everyone is invited to Power of the Purse with proceeds from the event directly supporting scholarships for single mothers and other women in the community. Tickets are available through the Women's Fund of El Paso website.
