Pope Francis to Release Rock-Influenced Album – Listen to the Lead Track Now

Pope Francis was a total rock star while he was here in America, drawing record crowds everywhere he went. And now, like any other rock star, the Pope will be dropping an album soon. Seriously.

"Wake Up!," which comes out Nov. 27, will feature His Holiness delivering sacred hymns, and "excerpts of his most moving speeches, in multiple languages." They will be paired with uplifting music ranging from pop-rock, to prog-rock, to Gregorian chants.

The lead single has already been released. Titled "Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward!" the song consists of words Pope Francis spoke to a South Korean audience in English last year. You can listen to the urgently-titled track (FOUR exclamation points!) at this Soundcloud link.
