Pope Francis was in the Philippines last week and said men need to start listening to women more, and stop being so macho. He also said Catholics need to stop being 'like rabbits,' if you know what I mean, and I think you do!

When he saw that four out of five people who were on stage with him were men, he said, "There is only a small representation of females here, too little." He said that the next time a Pope visits the Phillipines, he hoped there would be more women present because men need to listen to the different viewpoints women have. The Pope said, "Women are able to pose questions that we men are not able to understand." His comments drew a lot of applause, not surprisingly.

The bad news is Pope Francis said even though women need to be listened to, they won't be able to be ordained in the Church anytime soon. He said he did want to put nuns and other women in more senior positions in the Vatican. Maybe they'll be able to give the Pope a different viewpoint on ordaining women.

Just a thought, Your Holiness....

As for Catholics breeding 'like rabbits', the Pope said that just because the Church only approves natural birth control methods, and not things like birth control pills, that doesn't mean Catholics should breed like rabbits. He said Catholics should not have sex during a woman's fertile period.

No one ever said it was easy being a Catholic!
