A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jacob R. Soliz. Soliz is being sought for shooting and killing his uncle. It is believed he and his uncle had an ongoing argument that escalated Sunday evening. A confrontation ensued and Soliz shot his uncle several times. Just a few days earlier the sheriff’s department was called out for a domestic dispute but when they arrived to the home everyone had left.

A nationwide alert has been issued for Soliz's arrest. However, DASO believes he could still be in the Las Cruces area. He's described as 5 ft, 6 inches tall and weighs 220 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Soliz's whereabouts can contact local authorities. Reach the Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority at 575-526-0795 in a non-emergency situation or 911 in an emergency situation. Anonymous tips also can be given to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by text message to CRIMES (274637), keyword LCTIPS.

UPDATE: Jacob Soliz turned himself in to authorities in Anthony, Texas Tuesday morning. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Center on an open count of murder. The Sheriff's Office said he is awaiting extradition back to Dona Ana County.
