Police Catch Convenience Store Thief by following Trail of Nacho Cheese

A 20-year-old Iowa City, Iowa, man is behind bars thanks to a night of excessive drinking, discarded snacks, and a cheese covered shirt.

Francisco Munoz allegedly broke into a convenience store after a night of heavy partying and stole snacks, lottery tickets, nachos with liquid cheese, and two cases of Corona. By the time the cops responded to the silent alarm, the 20-year-old was long gone. But he left some very good clues behind: a trail of lottery tickets, snacks, and nacho cheese.

Iowa City cops followed the path of strewn objects and discovered Munoz about 100 yards away carrying two cases of Corona beer, and wearing a shirt covered in liquid cheese. A subsequent breath test showed he had a blood alcohol content more than three times the legal limit. He was arrested on several charges including public intoxication, and burglary.
