Southwest University Park will be getting a new neighbor in the near future. According to published reports, plans for a hotel catty-corner to the ballpark are in the works.

The $18-million hotel will be built across the street from the El Paso Scottish Rite Temple on the parcel of land where the building that housed the Texas Workforce Commission once stood.
