Thousands show up to support Beto O’Rourke on Election Night at Southwest University Park in El Paso, TX.

The love for Beto O’Rourke was apparent all night and the electricity was evident from all the Beto signs, stickers, and wide apparel from adults, kids and even pets. Not only was El Paso present but so where Beto supporters from all over the state of Texas including Dallas, Austin, and Houston. There were even folks who came out to support Beto from Phoenix, California, and Oregon who just wanted to be part of that historic election night.

The mood was set on high as local celebrities performed on stage as part of the entertainment for the evening’s festivities at Southwest University Park. Performances by local musicians included, Frontera Bugalu, Valerie Ponzio, Elia Esparza and Jim Ward of Sparta performing as his solo side project, Sleepercar.

Folks came in droves, groups of friends, families with their children and babies – at one point it had a feeling of a rock concert with supports chanting Beto’s name in between the artist’s sets. The anticipation was thick as some attendees stood all night starring at the televisions throughout concourse broadcasting the election polls all evening.

Even though Beto O’Rourke did not win the Senate seat for Texas against Ted Cruz, the crowd stuck around - not only to listen to his speech and to show their appreciation for his campaign run but also to show their support up until the very end – and I must say it was awesome to witness.
