Pay Down Your El Paso Library Book Fine With Food Donations

Facebook/El Paso Public Library

Got fines? The El Paso Public Library system wants to make a deal with you. Help them feed El Paso’s hungry and homeless and they’ll cut you some slack on your overdue book fine — $1 worth of fines for every can of food or nonperishable food item that you donate, up to $5 per account.

The Food for Fines program, which runs through Saturday, January 19, will benefit several charitable organizations that feed the homeless and the less fortunate including the El Paso Rescue Mission and the Salvation Army.

Overdue items, if any, and food donations can be dropped off at the circulation desk of any El Paso library branch library. Call 543-5433 for more details.
