NEW THIS WEEKEND IN THEATERS 9/23/11: A sports movie without a lot of sports, a movie based-on-real life events, and an espionage thriller with one of today’s hunky new stars are what’s new in theatres this weekend …
MONEYBALL (PG-13) – Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Wright. The story of the Oakland A’s’ attempt to build a club on a bare-bones budget with computer analysis using players the scouts rejected.
DOLPHIN TALE (PG) - Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Harry Connick Junior, Kris Kristofferson. Based-in-fact tale of a dolphin named Winter that was caught in a trap, and the boy who then helps it learn to swim with a prosthetic tail.
ABDUCTION (PG-13) - Taylor Lautner, Alfred Molina, Sigourney Weaver. A teen goes on the run after learning that his life has been an FBI cover-up.
KILLER ELITE (R) - Jason Statham, Clive Owen, Robert De Niro. An ex-special ops agent returns to rescue his mentor.
