New Mexico Inmate Claims He Was Shot During Range Target Practice
Robert Vasquez filed a lawsuit Wednesday against The New Mexico Corrections Department for getting shot in the foot. Vasquez is claiming that the guards like to target practice in a location very close to the inmates jail cells and during their practice.
The alleged incident happened at the Western New Mexico Correctional Facility in Grants New Mexico, A spokeswoman for the department stated that officials practice a nonlethal exercise in the courtyard and that inmates have the option to leave at any time.
Vasquez is seeking compensation for pain and suffering and an investigation is underway.
