New Mexico Could Start Testing Zika Virus in State
The state of New Mexico could start getting test results back faster for Zika virus results.
States send potential samples to the Centers for Disease Control’s lab in Fort Collins, but recently the New Mexico Department of Health began running test samples locally at its Albuquerque lab. The state could start doing its own testing and get results back faster if the lab can handle the extra work in a timely manner.
The state could begin its own testing on potential Zika virus infected samples as early as next month.
