“Movies by the Lake” is getting a sequel. The two-movie series was a big enough hit last year that El Paso County Judge Veronica Escobar’s office is going to roll it out again in May.

The outdoor family event features first run films shown on an inflatable screen set up near the Ascarate Lake waterfront across from the pavilion on R.E. Thomason Road. The series will open Friday, May 23 with a free showing of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” The following Friday, May 30, Disney’s “Frozen” will be screened.

Food trucks from The Reef Mobile Kitchen, Grill on the Go, Moshibox, Sweet Addiction Cupcakes, The Barking Hot Dog, Now Kettlecorn and TEAZE Boba Tea will be on site this year as well.

Although the movie is free, there will be a $2 per car park entry fee. You can find a few more details HERE.
