Mountain lion sightings are rare but, they do happen in El Paso. Captures are really rare!

Mountain lions are seen in and around El Paso, usually closer to the mountains. This capture though, occurred in the backyard of a home in the far eastern area of Montana Vista. According to the El Paso Herald-Post:

Deputies arrived at a residence located along the 14100 block of Seattle Slew Avenue and spotted a mountain lion in the backyard of the home.

The deputies then called for back up from Texas Parks and Wildlife, the El Paso Zoo and the State Veterinarian for the El Paso area.

The vet tranquilized the lion in someones backyard, no other animals, pets or humans were hurt. The lion's been taken to the El Paso Zoo where it will be examined and, eventually, released back into the wild.
