Morra Mia is not your typical Mexican restaurant; it's much more. From serving classic staples such as enchiladas, tacos, and authentic pozole in a vibrant setting, Morra Mia features cuisines from other regions, including Northern, Central, and Southern Mexican regions such as Yucatan.

With their fresh homemade tortillas, mole, and many other choice items made fresh daily in-house, there's a reason why Morra Mia attracts over 11,000 customers through its doors monthly. And through September, Morra Mia is bringing some incredible dishes to the table, featuring a tour of Mexico's most mouthwatering menu items.

Dining at Morra Mia was like taking a taste-tour through Mexico. It is such an immersive dining experience that you'll want to order everything on the menu.

And while you're more than welcome to dive-in, I ordered a few select options featured through September at Morra Mia, so you can have an idea of what to expect.

Panuchos: A traditional Yucatan dish made with corn tortillas, black beans, and Cochinita Pibil (a traditional Yucatec Mayan slow-roasted pork) topped with pickled onions and habanero. It’s a super savory and divine dish that will have your taste buds doing a happy dance at first bite.

Sopes: A fried corn patty topped with chicken or made with chorizo and potatoes. These are hearty and so yummy you won't be able to eat just one.

Pozole Verde (Green): A Morra Mia house specialty made with their signature maiz cacahuazintle, pumpkin seeds (pepitas) and spinach with a side of sopes. This might be the perfect dish as the weather cools down in the Sun City.

A Shrimp Pozole with a side of pescadillas (a type of fish taco). For our pescatarian friends, this bowl of soup will have you wanting more.

And to celebrate Mexican Independence Day, Morra Mia is offering the seasonal dish Chiles en Nogada.

Semi-sweet and savory, the traditional dish includes poblano chiles stuffed with ground meat and topped with a walnut-based cream sauce called nogada and topped with fresh pomegranate seeds, local pecans and parsley. It's genuinely a generational delicacy.

Or try a Morra Mia original, a Chiles en Nogada Burger version with a side of its one-of-a-kind Tajin fries. And let me tell you, those Tajin fries will make you wonder why you waited so long to visit Morra Mia in the first place.

Morra Mia also offers refreshing drinks from Aguas Frescas to boozie milkshakes, like their spiked Mazapan shake decorated with sprinkles, an entire twinkie, and a lollipop.

These specialty drinks made me feel like I was having dessert before my meal and worth every last scrumptious drop.

Morra Mia's September seasonal menu is just a small preview of its extensive menu which also features Burros, Tortas, Burgers, Flautas, and dozens more options, including its decadent desserts, which are all freshly made in-house daily.

Enjoy an order of Xangos; a cheesecake stuffed eggroll topped with moras borrachas (drunk blueberries) sauteed in sugar, tequila, and butter. And if that doesn't make your mouth water, then you can also try any of their freshly baked pan dulces, including its famous, coveted, and super fluffy conchas.
