The Boris Pickett classic "Monster Mash" has received a desperately needed makeover. A group that goes by the name of Key of Awesome updated the quintessential Halloween song using characters from contemporary horror movies, including Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, Hannibal Lecter, and the creepy girl from "The Ring".

In the video, Frankenstein's monster sings as each character enters a party, but he's horrified when he sees the stuff that they do, like, for example, Hannibal Lecter eats his date and Leatherface hangs the butler from a meat hook. Yeah, the modern version is a bit on the violent, grisly side. Check it out above, and compare it to the way more tame original below.
