Hat's off to the UTEP Miner players and the 7,000-plus screaming fans that inspired them to victory against TCU Thursday night. It was the crowd's energy the team fed off of that led to UTEP's comeback win after being down by 12 points that night, a fact Coach Keitha Adams readily admitted in a post-game interview with the El Paso Times.

"I'll tell you what happened: El Paso, the city, rejuvenated this team. This support put gas in the tank; they are loving this element."

Adams and the team hope for a repeat of that same enthusiasm and vocal support from El Paso Monday night when the women's basketball team hosts Oregon in the WINT quarterfinals. Monday's winner will move on to the semifinals -- and if its the Miners, it could mean hosting that game as well. That's because the NIT awards home court to the team with the best attendance.

So come on, El Paso, let's pack the Don. Tickets are $10 general admission ($4 UTEP students), and available at the University Ticket Center on N. Mesa, the Miners Store at 1452 N. Zaragoza at Don Haskins Drive, or online at TicketMaster.com.
