Mike’s the Stupid News: Suspect Caught after Complaining to Police

I’ve been doing The Stupid News feature for years, and it still never ceases to amaze me just how dumb some criminals can be . Take Jerry Lee Washington Jr. of Alabama, for instance.
Washington inadvertently turned himself in last week after he strolled into his local police department to report damage to his car. Damage, mind you, the car received after he tried to rob a man’s home, was caught in act of doing, then attempted to run over the homeowner as he got away.
Jerry Lee’s days on the lamb came to an end when he brazenly strolled into the Warrior, Alabama police department last Wednesday to report the subsequent damage to his car.
Cops quickly realized the damage was consistent with the hit-and-run and arrested Washington for burglary and attempted murder on the spot. Doh!
