Mike’s the Stupid News: Pastor Forced to Call 911 After Cuffing and Gagging Himself at Church [AUDIO]

Talk about getting yourself into a real bind! The pastor of St. Aloysius church in Springfield, Illinois was forced to call 911 recently after he got himself stuck in a pair of handcuffs.

In a muffled voice, Pastor Tom Donovan told dispatchers that he was alone in the rectory (hehehe, he said rectory) and had been playing with the cuffs when he became unable to get free. “I’m going to need help getting out before this becomes a medical emergency,” he’s heard telling the dispatcher.

It’s not clear exactly how he ended up in handcuffs or why he feared a medical emergency, but why his voice sounded muffled is no longer a mystery. Sources in the police department said responding officers discovered some sort of gag on the priest when they arrived. Meanwhile, the church has confirmed Pastor Donovan has taken a leave of absence.
